Inspired by 4th and 5th Century “Upswept Floor Mosaics” used as symbols of wealth and status during the Roman Empire, “Books on a Library Floor” welcomes visitors with whimsical images of books and inspirational quotes by famous characters.
Historically, these mosaics were created for dining room floors of wealthy society members with images of food bits dropped by dinner guests. “Books on a Library Floor” puts a spin on the traditional “Upswept Floor Mosaic” and suggests a different kind of wealth; that of knowledge gained through reading books.
