On October 25th and 26th, the Youth Services Department (YSD) hosted an executive team of four from the Children's Home Association of Illinois (CHAIL) for a Sanctuary Implementation Overview visit.  YSD was named by the Sanctuary Institute as a model agency for implementation of the model across both clinical and non-clinical domains within an organization.  The purpose of the 2-day visit focused on hearing from all levels of YSD staff about implementation challenges and successes.  The visit ended with the team being able to observe a youth graduating from the Highridge program where they were able to see the Sanctuary Model in action.  The CHAIL team plans to implement the Sanctuary Model and was very thankful for YSD's time and dedication to providing a comprehensive overview by demonstrating the commitments of Open Communication, Democracy, Social Learning and Growth and Change.
