Youth Services Announces 2023 ‘Pumpkin Decorating Contest’ Winners

Youth Services Department (YSD) held its 2023 Pumpkin Decorating Contest, benefiting United Way of Palm Beach County, on October 31, 2023.   Guests had a 'spooktacular' experience being able to play 'Spooky Trivia,' guess how many candy corn in a jar, and win prizes through a 'Roll-Oreo Zone' game. Tevin Ali, Public Relations Specialist, led the efforts in organizing and executing the event alongside a staff volunteer team.

The judges for the contest were:

  • Deborah Drum, Director of Palm Beach County Environmental Resources Management Department
  • Seth Bernstein, Executive Vice President of Community Investments of United Way of Palm Beach County
  • Marcia Weber, AFL-CIO Labor Liaison of United Way of Palm Beach County

    The winning pumpkins were as follows:
  • 1st Place Individual - Don't be a Pumpkin Head - Read Banned Books by Tammy Fields
  • 1st Place Group- Around the Campfire by Youth Services Department Administration Team
  • 2nd Place Group-Palmetto Dorm by Youth Services Department Highridge Family Center Palmetto Dorm youth
  • 3rd Place Group-Orthodontist Pumpkin by Water Utilities Communications Department
  • Honorable Mention -Viper Venus Fly Trap Pumpkin by Youth Services Department Highridge Family Center Mangrove Dorm youth
  • Honorable Mention- Mr. Safety Pumpkin by Public Safety Department

    Deep gratitude to the judges, countywide department contestants, attendees, and the YSD team who made this event possible.
