This afternoon, Vice Mayor Mack Bernard and county officials will host 40 Palm Beach County School District students to participate in Leadership Day and take in a Miami Heat game this evening. Students will meet county officials at 3:00 p.m., at the Parks and Recreation Administrative Complex at 2700 6th Avenue South, Lake Worth, 33461.

Students will travel to enjoy this evening's Miami Heat game at the American Airlines Arena at 601 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, 33132. During their journey south, students will hear from Vice-Mayor Bernard, Ike Powell, Youth Services Senior Program Specialist, and Todd Bonlarron, Assistant County Administrator about their personal leadership experiences. At 6 p.m., students will have the opportunity to see the Miami Heat pre-game practice and enjoy the game at 7:30 p.m.

"One of the many rewards of my position is being able to give students in our community opportunities that would otherwise not be afforded to them," said Vice Mayor Bernard. "I hope the students are encouraged to enter public service based on the leadership experiences they will hear about and enjoy Leadership Day."
