At the Feb. 2 Board of County Commissioners meeting, Commissioner Maria Sachs was presented with the National Organization for Women (NOW) of Palm Beach County Susan B. Anthony 2021 Feminist of the Year award. NOW has been practicing social distancing and operating by virtual meetings for the past year, but it was important to the Board of Directors to present their prestigious Susan B. Anthony annual award in a public venue that honors and celebrates the leadership of strong feminists. Commissioner Sachs has a strong historical record for advocating and providing progressive change to improve the lives of women and for women's rights throughout the county and state.
