The Spirit of Jupiter High School Marching Band played, twirled, stepped and strutted to First Place in Class 3A at the 2021 Florida Marching Band Championships held in November at the Ocala World Equestrian Center. Even with all the challenges students faced during the pandemic, the band's 89 members assumed a heavy rehearsal schedule while keeping up with their course work, jobs and social lives, and achieved a 90.5 total score at the competition - the highest in the band's history.

Besting 18 bands from throughout the state in Class 3A, the Spirit of Jupiter won Outstanding Music, Outstanding Auxiliary and Outstanding Special Effect Awards. Drum Major Zoie Kline was awarded the John C. Kersten Memorial Scholarship.

Commissioner Marino recently visited Band Director Ryan Ross and members of the band to present them with a certificate of congratulations from the Board of County Commissioners.
