At the December 13 Upper Level Breakfast of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County (BDB), attendees received an update from keynote speaker J. Michael Prince, President and CEO of USPA Global Licensing, Inc.

Mr. Prince, who also serves as the District 1 appointee to the BDB, heads the licensing division of the U.S. Polo Association (USPA).  With its headquarters now located near Wellington, FL, the USPA has worked for over 130 years to standardize rules and equipment, establish handicaps to more evenly match teams in tournaments held throughout the country, and has instituted many prestigious tournaments.

The BDB estimates that the equestrian industry in Palm Beach County has a direct and indirect economic impact of $600M, which includes 260 polo games in a four-month season.
