On Wednesday, January 18, 2023, Palm Beach County celebrated with housing partners Community Land Trust of Palm Beach County & the Treasure Coast and Community Partners of South Florida during a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Davis Commons, a 20-unit affordable townhome community located at 4462 Davis Road, Lake Worth, Florida.

The District Commissioner Michael Barnett along with Commissioner Mack Bernard were in attendance at the ceremony along with County residents and other funding partners.  The County through the Department of Housing & Economic Development provided; a one-acre parcel of land for a portion of the project, $2M in State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) funding, and $71,833 in Impact Fee Assistance.

“I am very excited to see the collaborative efforts demonstrated here to make projects like this a reality” stated Commissioner Barnett. “The public and private sectors need to work together to effectively address affordable housing.”
