At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on June 6, 2023, Commissioner Marino presented a proclamation declaring June 21, 2023, as Alzheimer’s Community Care Day in Palm Beach County. In the county, the age group 65 and older, which exceeds 24% of the population, is at the greatest risk for Alzheimer’s disease, and approximately 54,688 currently have probable Alzheimer’s disease. It is critical that Alzheimer’s families within our local communities coping with the disease are safe, with well-being, dignity and quality of life preserved, through services and resources accessible to all.
