Commissioner Marino joined several of her colleagues and Palm Beach County senior staff at the annual conference of the Florida Association of Counties (FAC) on June 27-30, 2023 in Orlando, FL.

As a member of the FAC Board of Directors, Vice Chair of the Finance, Tax & Administration policy committee, and member of the Community & Urban Affairs policy committee, Commissioner Marino has taken an active role in serving and representing Florida’s 67 counties through advocacy, collaboration and education.  These leadership committees help guide policy development that is presented to the State Legislature each session.

The conference also provided a workshop for commissioners to meet the ethics training annual requirements.

Additionally, Commissioner Marino earned the esteemed Advanced County Commissioner Level I designation from the Institute for County Government.  This achievement signifies the completion of 27 hours of coursework in the voluntary program, which consists of core education courses, such as growth management, financial management, and ethics, as well as elective courses including affordable housing, emergency management, and resiliency.  The program is presented by FAC through a partnership with University of Florida/IFAS Extension and is designed to enhance service to the local community through resources and instruction.
