On Thursday, Sept. 7, Palm Beach County Commissioner Mack
Bernard spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Autumn Ridge Apartments in
West Palm Beach. The 106 multifamily unit development, which includes 96
county-assisted units, will offer seniors affordable housing.
Palm Beach County Commissioner Mack Bernard and County
Administrator Verdenia C. Baker spoke at the ceremony. Commissioner Michael A.
Barnett was also in attendance.
The development will achieve a National Green Building
Standards Certification and incorporate energy-efficient appliances, low-flow
water fixtures and low volatile organic compound (VOC) paints.
This project was made possible through four funding
institutions, including Palm Beach County, and the partnership between Landmark
Development Corporation and not-for-profit Pine Ridge Holistic Living Center
Inc., an affiliate of the West Palm Beach Housing Authority. Funded in part by
Palm Beach County American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and HOME loans, the
development cost of Autumn Ridge is $40.7 million.
The development will be located at 1580-1610 N. Congress
Ave., West Palm Beach, in the unincorporated Westgate/Belvedere Homes Community
Redevelopment Agency.
