On November 10th, District 1 Commissioner Hal Valeche along with county officials honored Richard E. Walesky at Winding Waters Natural Area for his years of service to Palm Beach County. Rich served as director of Environmental Resources Management (ERM) from its inception in 1987 until his retirement in 2011. During the opening ceremony, Commissioner Valeche stated that Rich's leadership and concern for the environment successfully grew the department's programs over the years resulting in numerous national and local awards for preserving, protecting, and enhancing Palm Beach County's land and water resources.
