At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Nov. 7, 2023, Commissioner Bernard presented a certificate of recognition to members of the Lambda Alpha Alpha (LAA) Chapter and Sigma Delta Delta (SDD) Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. for their outstanding work on the Curb Appeal Project. The members of LAA and SDD have dedicated countless volunteer hours and service to the community including implementing health initiatives and mentoring programs, street cleanup events, talent hunting, Thanksgiving basket giveaways, track and field events for students and providing scholarships to high school seniors. Members painted and landscaped 12 homes of caregivers and seniors from Feb. 11 to Sept. 23, 2023.
