At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Dec. 5, 2023, Commissioner Bernard presented a proclamation recognizing Jamar “Hubba Bubba” Battle for displaying tremendous resilience and bringing joy to Palm Beach County residents and visitors. He contracted tuberculosis and meningitis at a young age, leaving him with disabilities. He has overcome adversity to become an iconic figure in Palm Beach County and brings joy to everyone he comes into contact with. Hubba Bubba can often be found near the Palm Tran bus stop on Westgate Avenue and Military Trail, dancing and singing with infectious enthusiasm. He teaches all of us that disabilities do not have to hinder our ability to bring joy and positivity into the world.
