At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on March 5, 2024, Commissioner Barnett presented a certificate of recognition to Chief Frank DeMario for his 25 years of service to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Chief DeMario served as chief of Law Enforcement Operations and Community Operations and was responsible for an annual budget of over $498 million, with a staff of 1,626 sworn officers and 1,631 civilians. He began his career with PBSO in 1998. His assignments included serving as colonel of the Department of Law Enforcement Operations, major of Strategic Operations, commander of the Court Services Division, commander of the Training Division, executive director of Human Resources, detective lieutenant for District 4 and administrative manager of the Division of Internal Affairs.
