On Monday, March 4, 2024, Vice Mayor Maria G. Marino changed things up and made the first ceremonial chip to start off the Major League Baseball Spring Training game between the New York Yankees and the Miami Marlins. The game was held at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter, FL which is the current Spring Training home for both the Miami Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals.
