At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on April 2, 2024, Vice Mayor Marino presented a proclamation declaring April 2024 as Child Abuse Prevention Month in Palm Beach County. Child abuse and neglect is a serious problem affecting every segment of our community, and finding solutions requires input and action from everyone. Effective child abuse prevention activities succeed because of the partnerships created between mental health and child welfare professionals, education, health, community and faith-based organizations, businesses, law enforcement agencies and families. We can all strive to work together as a community to increase awareness about child abuse and contribute to promoting the social and emotional well-being of children and families in safe, stable, and nurturing environments.
