At the Board of County Commissioner meeting on June 6, 2017, Commissioner Valeche presented certificates of congratulations to Gracie Leon and Kolton Paxson for earning medals in state and regional rowing competitions. Leon earned the Silver Medal at the Florida State Rowing Association’s Scholastic Regatta in the Open Women’s Single Scull event and the Gold Medal in both the Open Women’s Single Scull and the Under 17 Women’s Single Scull at the Youth Southeast Regional Regatta in Atlanta, Georgia. Paxson earned the Bronze Medal at the Florida State Rowing Association’s Scholastic Regatta in the Open Men’s Single Scull event and the Bronze Medal in the Under 17 Men’s Single Scull at the Youth Southeast Regional Regatta.
