Symposium Overview
This one-day symposium will highlight progress made over the past five years towards understanding, restoring and enhancing the Lake Worth Lagoon ecosystem and chart the course for continuing improvements. The draft 2013 Lake Worth Lagoon Management Plan Update will be available for public review and comment during the symposium.
The symposium will provide an opportunity to:
- Define the state of the Lake Worth Lagoon
- Share current research, monitoring, and restoration results
- Identify threats, data gaps, and restoration needs
- Foster collaboration
- Increase public awareness
Symposium tracks include:
- Habitat Restoration and Enhancement
- Water and Sediment Quality
- Public Use and Outreach.
Everyone interested in protecting, preserving and enhancing Lake Worth Lagoon is encouraged to attend: researchers, government agency representatives, municipal officials, non-governmental organization representatives, private sector environmental professionals, educators, and interested citizens.
