Okeeheelee Nature Center is operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department and is located in Okeeheelee Park at 7715 Forest Hill Boulevard, west of West Palm Beach. For more information on Okeeheelee Nature Center and other county-operated nature centers, visit www.pbcnature.com. All programs are by reservation only, unless otherwise stated. Please register online at www.pbcparks.com under “Online Services” click on Register/Pay for Program, or visit the nature center to register and make payment. All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program. Activities promote environmental awareness, conservation, and recreation.

CANOEING 101
Wednesday, May 1, 10 a.m.- Noon
Ages 10+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Join ACA-certified instructors on a guided and relaxing paddle excursion on the calm waters of Okeeheelee South. Learn the basics of canoeing from safety to paddle strokes, and develop a great new skill that connects you to nature. All equipment is provided. Participants must know how to swim and children must be accompanied by an adult. Sign up before it fills up!

CITIZEN SCIENCE SATURDAY
Saturday, May 4, 10 - 11 a.m.
Families/all ages, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Come connect with nature by learning how to use the iNaturalist app to identify native plants and animals, including the Purple Martins, along the trails of Okeeheelee. We will explore and discuss current conservation and research efforts in our community and train you to be a citizen scientist!

ONC VISITS THE LIBRARY: TOTALLY TURTLES
Tuesday, May 7, 3:30 - 4:15 p.m.

PACK & PADDLE PRESENT: CORAL CONSERVATION

Join Palm Beach Pack & Paddle Club for their monthly meeting and program featuring Leneita Fix, the Executive Director for the Reef Institute in West Palm Beach. Come learn about the Institute and its mission of coral conservation and how to be part of the solution to save our ocean!

ARCHERY FOR BEGINNERS

Join USA Archery-certified instructors and learn the basics of archery, from safety to shooting, and develop a great new skill! In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we invite you to learn this great new tool to focus your mind on a single target. All equipment is provided. Space is limited.

ADVANCED ARCHERY***

***Prerequisite: Must have completed Archery for Beginners***
Enjoy this grounding activity to improve the mind-body connection, as you advance your archery skills. USA Archery certified instructors teach advanced techniques and practice aim and precision with fun games. All equipment is provided. Space is limited, so sign up before it fills up!
