New aerial maps available on PAPA

West Palm Beach – New aerial maps, images taken near Jan. 1, 2022, are now available on https://www.pbcgov.org/papa/. This is the result of a joint commitment between the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser’s Office and Palm Beach County’s GIS, and the cost of aerial service products is shared between the two organizations.

Aerials of the developed areas of Palm Beach County, as well as Pictometry images, are taken every year and the western, or more rural parts of the county, are photographed in odd years.

Qualified national/international companies are engaged to use low-flying aircraft to fly a serpentine route, capturing images of the entire area. The large camera in the aircraft leaves only enough room for a pilot.

John D. Enck, CMS, CFE, Director of GIS/Ownership Services for the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser’s Office works closely with Palm Beach County’s GIS team to ensure this happens on schedule every year.
